The Old Borough Arms is a centrally located four star Guest House at the bottom of the famous Mermaid Street in Rye. It is from here that the cobbled streets of Rye wind their way up to the Church of St. Mary, passing by the house of Henry James the famous author on the way.

Rye is an ancient town situated on the south coast of England in East Sussex and is surely one of the most picturesque towns in England. Many visitors return time after time as it really is such a special place.

In former days The Old Borough Arms has played host to smugglers and sea-farers, and has welcomed a variety of guests since being built in 1720 upon a part of the old town wall. These days we are a welcoming four star Guest House offering comfortable rooms and a fabulous breakfast. We also have a bar for residents with a selection of organic wines, beers and local bitters.

All of our nine bedrooms are en-suite with immaculate bathrooms with showers.

Each room is individually decorated, has a well- stocked courtesy tray and a range of contemporary toiletries.

Rooms start from £60 per night, and include a fabulous breakfast (as recommended by previous guest Raymond Blanc!) and free Wi-Fi.

If you would like to stay the night or maybe longer, whether it’s business or pleasure, please call us on 01797 222128 or email us info@oldborougharms.co.uk

In addition to the Guest House, we also have a two bedroom apartment and a three bedroom house that are available for  holiday let. Details are to be found on this site, but please do not hesitate to contact us for current offers.
